VAL HALLA LOCAL RULES (Men Only)
USGA Rules of Golf govern all play except as clarified or modified by the following local rules.
USE EMBEDDED BALL RULE: in effect through the green.
OUT OF BOUNDS: White stakes holes #3, #11, #13, #14 range over road only, #15, #18. OB stakes right on #4 and #14 DO NOT APPLY, they are for #3 and #13 only.
WATER HAZARDS: marked by yellow stakes and defined by yellow lines.
LATERAL HAZARDS: marked by red stakes and defined by red lines.
DRAINAGE DITCHES & DEPRESSIONS, SPRINKLER HEADS AND ALL IRRIGATION: marked or not, is a free drop.
PATHS AND ROADS: Artificially surfaced (including gravel) cart paths and roads and associated worn areas, free lift, play as obstruction.
BRIDGES: Wooden or gravel are IN the hazards. Club may be grounded. Play it as it lies or take a hazard penalty. (Exception: the trestle bridge on #15 is rough).
IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS: Bells and their posts, irrigation boxes (stainless and plastic), fences and large boulders placed for cart control are free relief for stance and swing only. DRAINAGE PIPES IN BUNKERS: must drop in bunker.
GROUND UNDER REPAIR- marked and defined by white lines, also, circled or not: tire ruts, French drains, large burned areas with no grass, animal damage, stump-rot holes through the green. Aerification holes: relief "lie of the ball" only, place ball no nearer.
STONES IN BUNKERS: may be removed (Please dispose of permanently out of play.)
PROVISIONAL BALL FOR BALL IN HAZARD: For a ball that may be lost in a hazard, to save time, play a provisional ball under any of the available options under Rule 26-1.
-If the original ball is lost in the hazard, the provisional ball is in play.
-If the original ball is found in the hazard, the ball may be played or the provisional ball is the only other option.
-If the original ball is found outside the hazard, it is the ball in play with no option for the provisional ball.
STAKED NEW TREES: You have temporary "line of flight" relief to protect young trees.
