SUMMER EMPLOYMENT- 2008

 

1.     2008 Summer Adventure Day CampThe Summer Adventure Day Camp staff is supervised by the Day Camp director and Assistant Director.  The counselors are responsible for directing activities that are age-appropriate for the camper in the day camp program.

 

Employment period: All day camp staff must be available to work from June 19 - August 8. (No camp on July 4^th)  Camp staff must be available to work from 8:30-3:30pm each day with some opportunities for before camp care (7-8:45am) and after camp care (3:15 - 5:30pm).

 

Experience preferred: Camp staff should have some prior work experience with preschool or elementary age children such as babysitting, volunteer work, tutoring, etc.

 

Description of work:

·         Plan and direct small and large group activities, according to the weekly themes

·         Provide a safe, positive and fun camp experience for the campers

·         Keep head counselor and directors informed of any concerns/ issues

·         Be a positive role model

·         Attend trainings and staff meeting as scheduled

·         Actively participate and supervise campers in  all activities and field trips

·        Ability to work as a team in assigned group

 

 

2.         2008 Middle Adventure Day Camp

            Limited opportunities in this program due to returning staff

 

3.         2008 Magic Dragon Preschool Camp

            Some opportunities for junior counselors in this camp, depending on returning staff.

 

4.         2008 Sport Camps- Please contact your coach for summer opportunities

 

 

AGE GUIDELINES - This summer there are limited openings for new staff. 

 

15 year olds

·         Limited volunteer only opportunities in Day Camp

·         Paid (min. wage) staff at Magic Dragon Preschool camp (work permit required)

 

16 & 17 year olds

·         Paid Junior Counselor or Runner positions at Day Camp (limited)

·         Paid positions at Magic Dragon preschool camp

 

18 year olds completing high school June 2008

·         Paid Counselor positions at Day Camp (limited)

 

College age and up

·         Paid Counselor positions in all camps (limited)

·         Paid Head Counselor position in Day Camp (limited)
