Val Halla is known for the strength of its junior golf programs!  The last 5 years, we have reached capacity in all our programs (340 to 400 juniors per year).  We are not complacent, however, and look to improve our offerings every year.  Thus, we are joining forces with The First Tee of Maine to enhance our junior golf experience.

 There are changes in the programs for 2012.  The changes will result from the conversion of Val Halla’s junior golf programs to the First Tee of Maine.  The only noticeable change to the junior golfer will be the inclusion of the Nine Core Values that represent desired outcomes of the First Tee Life Skills Experience.  The Nine Core Values include Honesty, Respect, Perseverance, Courtesy, Confidence, Sportsmanship, Integrity, Responsibility and Judgment.  There is an increase of $10 which goes to The First Tee of Maine for shirts, caps, reading materials and a GHIN handicap card. 

 

Parent-Student Open House:   Saturday, June 2nd from 2-4 pm in the Junior Golf Room at Val Halla Golf Course

  • Target Classes – Wee Golfer Clinics

Introduction to Golf; Ages 5 – 7; 3-Saturday sessions; Session 1 is June 9, 16 and 23; Session 2 is July 7, 14 and 21; and Session 3 is August 4, 11, 18; Time: 10-11 am; Fee is $0 and parents are expected to stay (and participate if needed).

  • Player Classes – Instructional Clinics

Instruction in Golf; Ages 7 – 10; 5-Saturday sessions; Session 1 is June 16-July 14; and Session 2 is July 28-August 25; Time: 2-330 pm; Fee is $65 resident/$75 non-resident per 5-week session.  You may sign up for as many as you want.

  • Par Classes – Junior League 10 & Under

Instruction & Play Golf; Ages 9 – 10; Monday’s & Wednesday’s beginning June 25-August 15; Time: 830-11 am; Fee is $89 resident/$104 non-resident.

  • Birdie Classes – Junior League 11 & Over

Instruction & Play Golf; Ages 11 and older; Monday’s & Wednesday’s beginning June 25-August 15; 1-330 pm; Fee is $89 resident/$104 non-resident.

  • Eagle Classes – Stroke Play-Match Play League

Playing with Competition in Golf; Ages 13 and older; Tuesday’s & Thursday’s June 26-August 14; Time: 1-330 pm; Fee is $45 member/$125 non-member.

  • Par Classes – Meghan’s Golf Camp for Girls

Girls Only Golf; Introduction & Instruction; Ages 6 – 10; Monday’s and Thursday’s June 25-August 9; Time:  230-4 pm; Fee is $65 resident/$75 non-resident.

  • Birdie  Classes – Meghan’s Golf Camp for Girls

Girls Only Golf; Instruction & Play; Ages 11 and older; Monday’s and Thursday’s June 25-August 9; Time: 430-6 pm; Fee is $65 resident/$75 non-resident.

  • Golf & Tennis Camps

A week long golf & tennis camp; Monday thru Friday 9-3; Session 1 is June 18-22; Session 2 is August 20-24; Session 3 is August 27-31.  Fee is $215 per session.

 

 

 Combinations to consider…and save $$$…

  • Junior 10-Play & Junior League

Play in either Par or Birdie Junior League and receive a Junior 10-Play for $199 (save $45).

  • Junior Membership & Any Junior Golf Program

Join as a Junior Member ($325/$349); play unlimited golf; and receive entry into any of our Junior Golf programs free (save up to $135).

  • Family Saturday Afternoon Golf

Kids, under the age of 18, play free with paying adult on Saturday afternoons after 3 pm throughout the year.  Tee time required; 829-2225 x1.

  • Town of Cumberland Sunday Afternoon Golf

Residents save 50% on greens fee, cart and range balls on Sunday afternoons after 2 pm.  Tee time required; 829-2225 x1.  Must provide sufficient proof!

  • July is Junior Golf Month

Kids, under the age of 18, buy a range token and receive a free range token during the month of July.
