2013 Junior Golf at Val Halla

As summer approaches, this is a short reminder to sign up for our Junior Golf Programs at Val Halla as they are filling fast.  Over the years Val Halla has been known for the strength of its junior golf programs.  We continue to offer a strong schedule as we stress the 9-core values through our strong affiliation with The First Tee of Maine.

There are programs for ages 5-17 in such programs a Meghan’s Golf Camp for Girls, Wee Golfers Clinics, U11 and U15 Junior League, PGA Jr. League and Greely Ranger Golf Camp for GMS and GHS students.  We also offer weeklong programs in Golf-Activity Camps four times during the summer.

MEGHAN’S GOLF CAMP FOR GIRLS

  • LPGA-USGA certified camp for girls; Ages 8-15 (split into groups by age); June 20-August 12; Mon & Thurs 330-500; max. of 24; $65/$75.

THE FIRST TEE OF MAINE

  • Wee Golfer                         Ages 5-7    (Target Golfers)

Introduction to Golf;  Saturday Mornings – Session 1 – June 15, 22 and 29 (FULL); Session 2 - July 13, 20 and 27;  Series of 3 lessons; max of 12; $0

  •  U11 Junior League             Ages 8-11    (Player, Par and Birdie Golfers)

Education, Instruction & Play;  Mon & Wed 8-10:30; Jun-Aug;  max of 32; $79/$94

  • U15 Junior League             Ages 12-15     (Par, Birdie and Eagle Golfers)

WEEK-LONG GOLF AND ACTIVITY CAMPS (Changed for 2013)

  • Formerly Golf & Tennis Camp.  Campers will receive golf education, lessons and play golf.  Each afternoon we will provide an alternative activity such as fly fishing, swimming at the GHS pool, disk golf, tennis and mini-golf.  Ages 8-14.
    • June 17-21 (FULL); June 24-28; July 29-Aug 2; and Aug 12-16.
    • 9:00-3:00; Residents $205; Non-Res $225
    • 9:00-12:00; Residents $140; Non-Res $160

PGA JR. LEAGUE (New for 2013)

  • Travel Team Golf.  Ages 10-13.  Fee:  $129;  June 16-July 28; A PGA-sponsored program for the junior who wants to play “team golf.”  Practice on Tuesday’s at 3:00 and matches on Sunday at 2:00.  Matches are against other area teams and we play a scramble format.  Courses line-up include Woodlands Club, Webhannet and The Ledges.  This program is sponsored by the PGA and locally by Boulos Company and Norton Insurance & Financial.

GREELY RANGER GOLF SCHOOL (New for 2013)

  • Open to current and future Greely Ranger golfers looking to play in Middle School and High School.  Golf team meeting (both GMS and GHS) to discuss summer program is scheduled for June 10, 2013 at 9:00 AM (FORMELY 5:00 PM) in the Val Halla Junior Golf Room.  We will work on times and dates of the program at that time.  GMS players will be encouraged to participate in the PGA Jr. League program above.
